It celebrates how people, places and programs come together to create meaningful change across our communities.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"x_elementtoproof\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA key feature of the design is the use of \u003cb\u003ethree meeting places\u003c\/b\u003e, representing the foundations of the Empower network. These meeting places are inspired by the three tiger heads within the Empower logo and acknowledge the three groups that work together to make a difference: our \u003cb\u003eAlumni\u003c\/b\u003e, who continue to advocate for community programs; our \u003cb\u003ePhilanthropic Donors\u003c\/b\u003e, whose support helps fund important initiatives; and the \u003cb\u003eCommunity\u003c\/b\u003e, including the children, families and schools who benefit from those programs.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"x_elementtoproof\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe number three also reflects the three flagship Empower programs. \u003cb\u003eHealthy Relationships\u003c\/b\u003e promotes respect, positive relationships and domestic violence prevention. \u003cb\u003eClassroom to Careers\u003c\/b\u003e supports young people as they transition from education into employment. \u003cb\u003eStripes for Success\u003c\/b\u003e focuses on leadership, empowerment and building confidence in the next generation. Melissa is a proud \u003cb\u003eBoorooberongal clan woman of the Dharug Nation\u003c\/b\u003e, with cultural connections that extend back thousands of years and remain deeply woven into her identity, storytelling and artistic practice.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"x_elementtoproof\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHer paternal grandparents are both descendants of \u003cb\u003eMaria Locke\u003c\/b\u003e, recognised as the first Aboriginal woman to marry an English convict. Maria Locke was the daughter of \u003cb\u003eYarramundi\u003c\/b\u003e, the respected chief of the Richmond tribes whose Country lies along the Hawkesbury River in north-west Sydney.
